Cyber Heist Of The Century
While the ALT8 team was on an excursion to Manila, Philippines….
Today we were no more than a couple blocks away from Mile Zero of arguably the biggest Cyber Heist of the Century. This as the Telegraph puts it “More than $30 million (£20 mn) of the money that was stolen was handed over in cash to an ethnic Chinese man in Manila, a Philippines senator looking into the suspected laundering scheme said.”
Our team is spending a couple days as delegates on behalf of the Asian Development Bank Business Opportunities Fair plus another couple days alongside the great people at the Canadian Embassy exploring development opportunities in South-East Asia.
This type of event underscores the value of investing in good technical security and well designed procedures.
